This is an amazing photograph. The amount of detail is astounding! Look at the sand on the arm of the man in front, wow!! I love the mood that's set here, you can feel the power in those whips!!

Maybe I should have written this in the definition. It is the Manggarai Tribe of Flores, Indonesia, performing the Caci Dance. Yes it is a right of passage into manhood. One warrior cracks the whip, the other absorbs the blow. Usually they remain unscathed. Sometimes they get cut. The wounds are worn like jewelry. Pretty cool huh?
